Subject Fort Purbrook ARC Field Days
Hello Peter, a very good afternoon to you
The FPARC is running two field weekends up at the Fort, one in April (21st / 22nd) and one in May (19th / 20th) when we be running a CASHOTA award station.
We've just had a meeting (last Friday) to discuss the ongoing organisation of these weekends, and it was unamimously agreed that we would like to extend an invitation to club members of the IOWRS to join us at your convenience, and perhaps if you wish, spend some time operating our club station M0GZN. The events are strictly for FPARC members and invited special guests, such as yourselves.
As long as numbers are limited, say 4, our Chairman Gary G3TMG has offered to collect you from the IOW Ferry and take you back when you wish to return.
Both weekends are meant to be fun and relaxed, although the May weekend will be a litle bit more formal as we will be an award station. Perhaps you might like to attend during the April weekend and see how it goes. You are welcome to attend both weekends of course.
This will be the first major activation of our club QTH, using a station set-up in a fabric enclosed gazebo. We will be offering refreshments, and maybe bacon rolls, but I think packed lunches would be the order of the day.
If you like the idea, please can you discuss it with your members, and come back to me on my club e-mail address - m0gwd@fparc.org.uk and we can take it from there.
All the best Peter, and regards to all G3SKY members.
